The Mews - Cat cartoons

My cartoon strip ‘The Mews’ was created in 1990. I did get a few near misses with getting the strip published; editors liked it, but money was tight at the time and they did not have the budget to commission a strip. I recently found a rejection ship from The Daily Express which was very complimentary about my cartoons, but said it could not use the strip as it would be unwelcome competition for Garfield!

I have always owned cats. I like them because they are so independent, and have qualities that at times seem almost human – such as the ability to ask for affection, or to throw a strop.They can also manipulate us into doing what they want.
